Tavira, Algarve’s Venice

The route begins in Tavira. In this Algarve region, the 11 km of beaches with light and fine sand and warm water include the Barril beach, accessed through a pedestrian bridge and a picturesque tourist train. Take the opportunity of the ride to observe the fauna and flora and then recall the legends of the sea in the anchor graveyard. Stretching out to the horizon, the beaches of the island of Tavira and Terra Estreita are ideal for those looking for peace and quiet.

Traveling to the West

Through the 200 km long Algarve coastline, dotted by coves, caves, cliffs, beaches embraced by rocks or endless beaches until they blend with the horizon, the beaches of Olhão and Faro emerge until you reach Loulé. Vilamoura, Quarteira, Almargem, Vale do Lobo, Ancão and Quinta do Lago are among the most popular ones. Already with a foot in the Barlavento region, this itinerary stops in Albufeira, where if you spend two weeks on holiday, you can go to a different beach every day.

From the colorful fishing boats that distinguishes the Pescadores beach (fishermen beach), right in the center of this city, to the warm and gentle waters of the beaches of Galé, Evaristo and Castelo spotted by rocks and protected by cliffs, passing by the Praia dos Alemães, Oura, Maria Luísa and Olhos de Água or Falésia beaches.

Jumping right to Praia Grande and Armação de Pêra, in Silves, let’s take a step forward, without neglecting the natural beauties of the landscapes cut by the cliffs at the Praia da Senhora da Rocha, Praia Nova, Albandeira or the secret cave of Benagil, Caneiro or Praia do Pintadinho beaches.

Almost reaching the other end of the Algarve, and because it is here that are some of the beaches acknowledged as the most beautiful in the world, we complete this route in Lagos.
