Positioning such an event in Lisbon is already an affirmation but making the event inevitable is a promise with all the benefits and rewards including economic.
WHY PORTUGAL ?
Portugal, a country with a long touristical activity, which celebrates the 500th anniversary of Magellan’s World Tour, is more than legitimate to support this approach.
Portugal is a country with an offensive, innovative and responsible tourism policy throughout the continental and island territory.
Portugal benefits from an international influence on all continents.
Portugal is ahead on the thinking reflection and implementation of a balanced tourism.
Portugal is for tourism, what Switzerland is for economics and finance.
WHY EVORA ?
Being a human-sized city, homogeneous, easy to protect with its walls and the possibility to access by foot or by bicycle for all side events that will take place outside the main conference venue.
Because we want to present to the World a symbol of the future of tourism, creating « the spirit of Evora ».
Being a city out of the great tourist flows and representative of a different, controlled tourism that demonstrates that over tourism is not the right model of development.
